    • Marriage is blessed by God.
      • Marriage has not fallen on hard times; husbands and wives not obeying God has fallen on hard times.
  • The great mystery that is revealed is this: The marriage relationship is a picture of the relationship between the Christ and Church.
    • The husband is the Christ figure.

    • The husband is the loving sacrificial head.
    • The wife is the respectful bride.
  • 1 Peter 2: 11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.
    • Verse 13…therefore submit…
    • Verse 18…servants submit…
    • Verse 3:1…wives likewise submit…
    • Verse 3:7…husbands likewise dwell with…

  • He lived righteousness.
  • He trusted God with His circumstances.
  • He died to self.
  • His example restores our soul.
  • Likewise Wives (3:1-6)
